Nope, ..........I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling,
do you? ...Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the
Gloria Aldreds and other dunder headed attorneys along with Federal
Justices that want to thwart common sense feel doubly ashamed
of themselves. As the writer of the award winning story Forest Gump
so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does!"
Dude. Don't loose sight of the big picture. Its not about this particular
issue, but the gradual erosion of human rights over generations. Don't
be small minded. Remember, that when laws such as this are generalized,
then they apply not only to the particular instance but become universal
precedents in courts of law. The same situation gets applied far afield
of the supposedly "justified" instance .
Just like by supporting a war on "terror" what we are simultaneously
saying is that one is supporting a war for American Self-Interest at
the expense of multilateralism. The consequences of this are broad reaching
too. Its not about this particular war but war as an alternative to
deplomacy in general. We set a precedent (or rather we have been continually
setting a precident) that this is the way it's going to be. Its only
a matter of time before desperate men between the ages of 17 and 40
get their hands on a nuclear bomb and detonate it in washington. No
amount of preemptive strikes can stop that wildcard. Or worse, a multilateral
"coalition of the willing" launch a preemptive strike against
us.
Diplomacy is the only thing that will stop this. America not acting
like an adolescent saying "me first". Think about it South-side
Chicago style. If we are the big kid on the block with the gat and the
pimpin ride, its only a matter of time till someone puts a bullet in
our head. If, as the kid with the gat and the pimpin ride, we use that
status to build a posse then we are not the only target. There are a
dozen other heads that have to get axed before they get to ours. Likewise,
If we make the UN the bad guys, then we are not individually culpable
for the particular war. If we act unilaterally, then we are truly alone.
A solitary, discrete target in a world far more dangerous than most
people in America realize.
We are making a target of ourselves. A big fat target. A stupidly obvious
target. And continued aggression internationally of this scale, against
not a racial group but a RELIGIOUS group will only reaffirm that we
are the enemy of Islam. There are more of "them" than there
are of us by like 4 to 1. "They" control more territory, they
control more resources. You do the math. How long till every fucking
other kid on the block steps up and gets together and CRUSHES our economy
(cause thats how you put an end to America. One big multilateral embargo).
That is the source of our power, and they know that. The Osamas know
that. THe Sadams know that. The EU knows that, and its just a matter
of time till China AND Russia AND France AND Germany AND Indonesia AND
the Philippenes, AND Saudi Arabia AND... ... ... we can only buy our
allies for so long before they realize we are the problem and not the
solution.
World power is a fragile thing. And when we loose our moral high ground,
when we start okaying wire taps without court oversight and holding
prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and racial profiling in our airports, and
okaying random seaches and detentions, and FBI questioning of random
foreign nationals, and when we start unquestioningly supporting the
actions of a president with an IQ of 90.... Its just a matter of time
till we become the thing we hate. We become the very thing we fought
WWII to defeat.
You and I were born into a world with less rights than our fathers
had. Children born today will have far less rights than we had when
we were brought into this world. We are in a downward spiral and the
scariest thing is that nobody is speaking out except those labeled the
"radical fringe." The popularly elected president is not in
office and they call this a democracy? We are fighting for democracy
in Iraq and we don't even have it at home?
I'll shut up now. I'm sure that this is going to end up in a vast FBI
database anyway. Oh well. Life goes on. We are the new Rome. Why should
we suffer any different a fate? Let's see, how long did that empire
last--without the internet but with globalization--before the Mongol
"hordes" used the Roman's own roads to ride right into town?
We will not get out of this war unscathed. Watch what happens with
Russia and China in the coming years. Watch what happens with "Old
Europe." And god help us for what is yet to come from the "Muslim
Extremists." Its a total farce that this is making america a safer
place. I've been to Kashmir and Punjab, I've been to Serbia. I've been
to Morocco and Turkey. Americans are very soft, complacent and don't
know suffering.

on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed
to
profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old
women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, Secret
Service agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year
old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning former
Governors.
